Scenic Canyon is about 5 miles SW of Cloudcroft, NM on Hwy 82 and about one mile up Dry Canyon Road. You have to pay attention to find it, but the owner has included good maps and directions on the website.
This park advertises a quiet stay, and that's what we got. No public showers, no camp store (though the owner does keep a few parts on hand, like a new RV hose when the one that came with my trailer turned out to be about 6' long) no tent camping, just 15 or 16 sites with full hookups and cable TV. We found the owner (Bill Turner) to be very friendly and easy to work with.
If you go, try to get one of the pull through sites on the west side of the park (spaces 15 or 16) because it puts you overlooking the meadow (see the picture). You may get lucky like us and wake up to find elk grazing out your window.
If you need attractions, diversions or bells-and-whistles, this is not the place to go, but if you want somewhere quiet where you can read, sleep and listen to yourself think, you won't be disappointed.
First picture is looking north toward the park from the meadow.
Second picture is looking down on the park from the entrance.
Last picture is the meadow with elk.
