LED Lights
For anyone interested in changing out their interior lights, here's what I replaced mine with. And, I must add, I'm glad I did... they produce much better lighting and, of course, easier on the batteries.
The 1156 lamps were replaced with 1156-CW18-T
The 1142 lamps (for the shaded lamps in the front corner of the TM) were replaced with 1142-CW18-T
I purchased them @ www.superbrightleds.com
Also, the outside light I replaced with WLED-CWHP6-D It's a cool white (CW) as well but does come in amber.

led lights for TM
Just ordered a set for the TM, included fixtures off ebay, about 4 bucks total more then superbright but no messing around with mounting pc boards to the existing fixtures.

We greatly reduced the draw on the electrical system when we replaced all our lights in the PU with LED's. Planning on doing this with our TM.

This is good information.
In my particular case where saving energy while out boondocking is paramount I would like to try having one interior LED bulb to be used as sort of a "lantern".
Does anybody have amperage or wattage data for these LED bulbs. A #1056 incandescent bulb is rated at 23 watts @ 12.8VAC, but I can't seem to find any data on the replacement LED bulb?

According to the link in post #1 above, a replacement draws 175 mA at 12 VDC = 2.1 watts. Quite a bit less. But the idea of replacing ONE light, just to try it out, is a good one. LED lights don't have the same beam pattern as incandescents, and often have a much more focussed beam. So although they may be just as bright within the beam, they may not be a good substitute since they may be entirely dark outside the narrow beam.

And since they are quite expensive, you probably don't want to buy a bunch until you know what they will do for you.
By the way, one of the cheap multi-LED battery-powered lanterns from WalMart can be a very handy thing to have. Since they are powered by their own A- or D-cell batteries, they draw nothing from the TM battery. Portable, too.
