custom wiring job
I was mounting the new awning on my 2720 . I was told to use the corner molding as it had the best strength. Well, above my door, in the corner molding ,runs an RG6U coax for the sat antennae and a shielded quad cable with drain. I drilled through both. I had to cut a chunk out of both as they were both cut in 2 or 3 places. Since the cables kept going into the back part of the trailer, I couldn't access them to replace the whole run. For the coax, I went and got some screw on F connectors, and an 8" peice of flat coax from Radio shack used to route coax under door ways. I don't have a sattelite TV subscription but I'm wondering if this will negatively impact reception. It just seems to have the center connector, no braid shielding.
I don't even know what the quad cable is for. I spliced in some individual stranded cable between each wire. Any idea what this cable is for? Do I need a foil shield and re connect the drain?
And what the heck is that inside white molding made from? It seems impossible to replace parts of it, or the whole thing. I seems glued in with no hope of ever replacing.
