What are you doing for TV antennas?

As title says.
I'm out camping in my new to me TM 3023 and I went to raise the antenna and the "raise" knob seems stripped, it won't raise. And the dial with the teeth between it and the inside of the roof just flops and dangles between the "raise" crank and the inside ceiling.
I'd like to replace it with a digital one anyway. Its a plain old uhf style antenna probably stock original from 1997. I have a digital antenna bought on clearance from one of the home electronic places, it's square and about the size of a small flat screen tv, I have used before in my old camper (but we have never camped here before) I've tried it on 3 sides just put it in different windows) and I get 13 channels in the best window but 1/2 are pixelized so bad I can't see anything meaningful, in each of the other 2 windows I am getting the same 5 channels and none are local stations so as to be able to get local weather, etc....
