Are you talking about the Support Arms for the Awning? If so, they are aluminum.

I believe the OP is asking about the lift arms for the roofs.

Certainly not "sheet Metal". Sheet metal usually refers to the stuff duct work is made out of. Thicker than flashing but still thin. My lift arms are relatively thick rectangular, seamless aluminum tubing.

Had one that was bowed like a pretzel. Tried to straighten it out by driving over it with my SUV. It didn’t touch it. The RV shop gave it a try and gave up. They got me a new one, I don’t remember what it cost but it was a lot less than I thought it would be, less than $50. It’s not sheet metal and I doubt if it’s aluminum. It’s some tuff stuff.

Well. it is ferrous. I just stuck a magnet on it. I'm kinda surprised. Those 8 arms would add some weight but it must be for the strength. My mistake.

Have one that is rusting pretty good and just wondered if I could have one made locally or need to go to the factory. Thought about using body putty on it, but not sure that would hold up and also wanted to make sure it was not galvanize if I try and patch it, because I probably would prime and paint it with Rustoleum and it is not suppose to be used on galvanize.
Guess I need to touch base with the factory.

I just had new tires mounted in AZ and was about a hundred miles down the road doing 50 mph when I felt a vibration. Before I could even think about stopping, the wheel fell off and caught rear left of the TM. Tore it up pretty good. Had to replace the wheel hub and rim but the tire wasn’t damaged? I’ve put about 20 thousand miles the tire since and still going good. The tire shop made good on the deal. Paid for all repairs on the extensive damage done to the rear shell plus seven thousand extra. Can’t say it’s as good as new but everything is fully functional and unless you were looking for it you’d never know that it had all the work done to it.
