Default Shock Absorbers

So my TV (2004 F150) is approaching 100,000 miles, and I'm thinking it's about time to replace (at least) the rear shocks. I don't see any apparent leakage, but the ride seems to have gotten a little "soft" over time.

Anybody ever put Monroe Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber on their TV? If so, did you like them?

Oh how I wish my Explorer had shocks instead of struts. Before this SUV, those Monroes were my favorite "firmer than stock" replacement shock. Have had several sets and liked 'em all, tho I've not owned a F150. Might as well do the fronts too, I think you'll like it!

Not familiar with those Monroes. Lot of people on the F150forum like Bilstein HD (B6?). I put Ford's own HD shocks on (the one's that come with the HD payload option that I should have got). Some use adjustable shocks from Rancho, RS9000, more expensive though.

I put the Monroe Sensa-tracs on my F150. I like the way they ride "empty." I'll report back here after my first towing trip.

Default Sensa Trac Shocks

I actually put a pair of the sensa trac load adjusting shocks on the rear of our 2005 F-150 yesterday. Our truck has 118,000 miles on it, and I've noticed that it seems to sink lower when the TM is connected than it used to. Height from ground to center of fender was 37" with old shocks, 37.5" with new. I was surprised to find that even with the heavy springs, the truck rides better unloaded than it did before. Haven't hooked up the TM yet, we are getting it ready to go see Mickey Mouse and crew in Orlando in about 2 weeks. Will post the results.
