Does brand of WDH matter?
I need to get a WDH installed very soon on my new 2010 Chevy Traverse so I can safely tow my new 2010 2720SD.
I called a local RV dealer and they only carry Husky brand.
Local Toys for Trucks dealer who installed my previous hitch only carries CURT Mfg brand.
Is there any real difference? Should I go with an RV dealer or the local Toys for Trucks?
Lucky me, I have to buy a new draw bar and ball just to tow the camper to wherever I decide to have WDH installed. The old drawbar is too large for the traverse.

I am not trying to start another fight about towing with a Traverse, but your comment about the drawbar concerns me. If the rear square hole in the Traverse receiver is less than 2 inches by 2 inches, it means you have a Class 1 or 2 receiver on the vehicle, which is undersized for towing a Trailmanor.
Is there a 2 inch receiver on the vehicle?

Sara,
A few thoughts occur to me:
1: Be sure you have a big enough receiver for the task at hand. 2" x 2" at least.
2: If the Traverse is front wheel drive, you probably will want a WDH, but it might be smart to drive the unit for a while to see if you really need it. I didn't think I would, turns out I do. Many forum members report no sway at all.
3. Reese is the most common brand, E-quil-izer 4 point is also popular and used a lot. I went with the Andersen No Sway, but had to order and will install myself (this weekend I hope). From my internet research, I would probably go with the E-quil-izer if I had not chosen Andersen.
Hope that helps.

Traverse is 2" Square
The Traverse is 2" square. I think the one from my OLD vehicle is 2 1/2" don't have it with me and didn't measure it, but it doesn't fit into the Traverse.
I think the hitch they installed on my OLD VEHICLE was overkill because I couldn't tow that much anyway.

I am tempted to do so, but don't really want to take the chance. I will be towing in mostly flatlands, couple of hills, 180 miles each way.

When trailer is level, what is height to ball?
Since I do have to buy a new drawbar before I can tow my 2720SD to get the WDH put on, does anyone have the height measurement when trailer is level, from ground to the ball?
See attached picture if not sure what I am asking.
It would be helpful to have this so that I can get the right drop on the drawbar.

Sara,
This may not be completely relevant to your situation, but I got a Reese 2 1/2 drop draw bar and put the ball in upside down. So the top of the ball is about 2 inches above the top of the coupler (with trailer level) when I back up to hitch. The weight of the trailer levels it out nearly perfectly on my rig. Your mileage may vary . Note with my new WDH, a whole new ball and adjustable draw bar is used. I will no longer use my old draw bar and ball. So maybe you could rent a draw bar and hitch ball from U-Haul until you get your WDH installed. Hope that helps.
