Default Tires - Complaints Info

I was trying to find some recent info on tires for my TM and/or TV when I found this link which although not specific to trailer tires does give a pretty good idea of just how many complaints a particular tire company or brand gets relative to others.

For the TM, I am thinking that I will go with MAXXIS tires from Amazon with local mounting. Interestingly, this link shows NO complaints about MAXXIS that I can find.

I like Amazon OK, you might also check www.discounttiredirect.com. That's where I got my Maxxis in March 2011 and at that time they had the best price. I corresponded with a service agent by email with a couple questions and had a good experience with them. I had wanted "E" load range but they did not have those at that time so I got the "D" load range. I had the tires mounted to the rims, with metal valve stems, by a local shop and put them on the TM myself. I probably have about 9000 miles on them since purchase, no problems so far.

The ST225/75R-15D1 113 B Maxxis tires were $108. each including shipping, at that time.

The only down side of Amazon is you have no control over the date code and could get old tires before they are even mounted. When I buy tires, especially for an RV I always have the dealer ask for tires with newer date codes then have them call me with the DOT code before mounting them. If the tires are older than I am comfortable with, I have them sent back.
