Just back from Longboat Key/Amelia Island Florida. Spent two nights on shakedown trip, about 120 miles from home. Stayed at the "
Buttonwood Inlet RV Resort" in Cortez about 1/2 mile and a bridge to the beach.
Very comforable and clean. Our site was next to the pool and close to the spotless bathhouse. Had 30 and 50 amp elect., water, wifi, and dump on the site. Many people use it for extended stays in behemoths. Urban setting so everything had coded locks.
Target rich OTA Telly so were able to watch the Magic get trounced by the Spurs.
Did not need but the enclave had their own boat ramp.
Did prove the wisdom of a TM and a TV since could leave the TM and visit the beach spots in the TV.
Drive down was uneventful, cruises nicely at 65, drive back was exciting, had to pull over twice because the rain squalls were so bad visibility was less than I considered safe but stops were only about 10 minutes each. Interstates were heavy on return so only averaged about 45 mph.
Recorded mpg for 306 miles including a day and a half of puttering was 17.7 on 87 PON. Power was more than enough though a couple of times pulling around slower traffic I needed most of the 290 horses.
Not cheap but rates include tax and received a significant veteran's discount.
If you want a few days at the beach in a prime Gulf Coast location, it was excellent. No surprises.
ps strap on side mirrors let me see behind as well as any and were quite stable but really needs the camera. Was great for keeping aligned in lanes.
