Figured I'd share my latest project......Replacing the cracked and broken bed support slides. If you're like me, you have more time than money, so did some research and decided to make my own. If you go on Grainger's site and look up item 1ZAK3, you can buy HDPE (High density Polyethylene) sheet stock, and customize the size sheet you want. I bought a 48"x12"x .125" (1/8) sheet for $24 delivered and cut my own sliders. I had enough to make all eight sliders, and enough left over for three more down the road. The material is thicker so should hold up a little better over time. I made the cuts using a utility knife and a straight edge. I also drilled the screw holes a little bigger than the screw diameter so I had some adjustability when installing, as some of my mounting screws were installed at an angle, causing the slider to bow out.
I've learned alot from this forum and want to give back. Enjoy!
