Armed with the VIN from my old Town & Country, that I used to use as the TV for my TM, I found that it was a 3.8L V6 18hp 4-speed auto. Towing capacity was:
Base Curb Weight 4178 lbs 4178.0 min 4178.0 max
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 3500, 2000 lbs 2000.0 min 3500.0 max Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 350, 200 lbs 200.0 min 350.0 max
It had a trailer tow package which included heavy duty suspension, heavy duty front disk/rear drum brakes, and heavay duty transmission oil cooler.
Hmmm, I had no idea the towing capacity was that low, yet it handled the TM just fine....

Experience with Honda Pilot
I have an '07 Pilot, and I have towed a 20' Stratus bass boat with it and it has not had any for issues at all pulling my 2619. The 4500 lb capacity is made for boat trailers, which aren't in the wind like a regular trailer. The TM, being low, should fit well within those terms imho.

After much pondering, and since I have a 3023, I bought a 2016 Ford Expedition - just brought her home yesterday! Well, technically today, since I did get home on the return drive until 6am.

Not *quite* as big as the 2005 Excursion I had for a couple of years.... But uses a LOT less gas!

Those Expeditions are nice! I was looking for one last year (an older model, can't afford new) but they were so beaten up.
If you have the Ecoboost, I STRONGLY recommend you install (or have some one install) this oil catch can:
This is not to scare you. As we know, every manufacturer has it's issues. I think this is a great fix for anyone that has the Ecoboost. FordTechMakuloco has a ton of great videos for Fords.

Thanks for that info! I'll share it with my mechanic - he was happy I decided to go the Expedition, and not the Armada - he said those ride like a tank.
This thing has SO MUCH TECH - it's one of the reasons I wanted to take back roads on the way home - just too much new stuff, and I was a tad intimidated. At one point, while driving, with the "key" sitting on the center console (no actual ignition key), it announced that it couldn't locate the key! LOL I guess that's a safety feature in case you leave your key at home, although with the key pad door entry, and no ignition key, not sure you even need it.
Despite a LOT of 'stop n go' driving, through towns with lights, strip malls, etc, I averaged 20.2 mpg on the trip home, so I was pretty happy with that.
My Schipperke was quite happy with the new ride, and the thing seems to made for him, since his silicone collapsible travel dog food bowl fits perfectly in the cup holder on the center console, and is in the perfect location for him.
I actually got a really, really, REALLY good deal on this (hence the long trek to get it), otherwise I could never afford a vehicle my insurance company just valued at $51,200! I couldn't be happier! And despite the good deal, I'll still be cringing when that first payment is due.....

The floor shifter is the only thing I don't like about the newer fords. I've never been a great fan of center consoles, but that shifter just gets in the way.
But then I come from years of using column shifters.

Yeah, nothing on the right side of the column at all. There I was, searching for the windshield wipers when it started to drizzle..... They are on the directional. Weird. I'm used to either my Bronco, with the windshield wipers on the dash, left of the column, or my Tribute, with them on a stick on the right side of the column.... Then again, my Bronco has a big honking 4x4 shifter on the floor anyway.
I thought I might not like the fact that the cup holders are on the passenger side of the shifter. Would the shifter get in the way, while reaching for my cup? But actually, after the drive home, I quite like the way it's set up, and the shifter location really didn't seem to bother me.
The driver's side is so separate from the passenger side - it's like two separate cockpits. I've decided I like that too. In the Tribute, the dog hangs out on the center console a lot - which is actually my arm rest, and a LOT more narrow than the Expedition, so his head tends to be 'in my personal space' all the time. In the Bronco, despite being harnessed into the passenger seatbelt, he can still sit on the center console, and he tends to sit with his back up against me - also a tad annoying when it's hot. He is completely separated from me in the Expedition, yet he feels close enough when he rests his front end on the center console.
