Bill check this out... I found a good pic of the damage. You can see that on the right side of the picture the steel member shows scuff mark. Shiny spot that seems to indicate possible contact with the wheel. It can also be seen that the wheel came in contact with the bottom of the trailmanor. What I called the floor. That can be seen right above the shiny spot in the pic.

I was afraid you would say that... but still here are some pics of the tire that came off the problematic side. The center treads of that tire are higher all the way around the tire. This was very noticeable to me as soon as I took off the tire the first time even before looking at the fender well and seeing the damage. Based on what you said above this pic probably does not help but...

Looks like it might be overinflated. How much air is in it (if it looks like that still), when not in the sun?

Inflation pressure was 55 and 54 on the other side.

It would take a LOT of over inflation to do that. When they bead the tire on the rim, they often use 100psi.

It looks like the tread may be separating. I'd still take it by a tire shop and get a professional opinion.

You might also try standing the 2 tires next to each other on level ground and put a level across the top of them.
