I didn’t like having the water heater switch for the electric function outside. So I essentially “relocated” the switch, but some wiring was involved. Got a DPST (SPST would have worked) and a nice black aluminum mounting plate. Took out the rocker switch at the water heater, connected two 12 ga extension wires (14 ga would be sufficient for the 15AMP circuit, but you know Dilberts always over do it) to the two existing leads, fed the two extension wires through an existing wire hole below and to the left of the switch hole, and routed the extension wires to the new switch. Two details: I inserted a rubber grommet into the rectangular opening where the switch came out, and tucked the wires and connectors back through for protection and a cleaner look; the smaller hole through which I fed the new extensions wires was not quite big enough for the now three wires so I enlarged the hole for a larger rubber grommet.
