Wood panel on kitchen wall
Has anyone replaced this wood panel?
I replaced it a few years ago because it got wet and moldy. While I had all the leak problems fixed, condensation got to my replacement and I've got mold again.
Has anyone replaced this wood panel with anything else? I'm just looking for ideas. Even just removing it and painting over.

Lots of folks remove it and paint the wall. I don’t know if that’s a great idea because now the windows are loose by 1/8” or 1/16” or whatever the luan thickness was.

I was wondering about that before Shane. The aluminum trim seems to be bent out a little to accommodate the extra thickness, if I recall correctly. That itself could cause problems too.

I think you might look at vinyl sheet goods. Try looking at vinyl flooring in HD, Lowes, etc. I am not a fan of the bright 1-inch faux tiles that are so popular these days. But you can get patterns that look like muted big (4inch) tiles, wood-look or marble-look tiles or planks, woven/rattan-mat look .... There are dozens of choices, and your taste will guide the choice.
I think vinyl would solve your moisture problem, wouldn't it?

I've been thinking about that. Has anyone actually done this? If so, would you do it again?
