Default Water intrusion in forward most ceiling light - where is it coming from?

I just started getting some water intruding into the lens cover of the forward most ceiling light on the front shell -- just in front of those cabinets in the front of the front shell.

Presumably, there are only 3 places the water can be coming from. I'm thinking more than likely it's coming from the center roof seam, but on a quick check at least, the strip covering it on the roof seems solid. It still could be that, though I'm now also wondering if it could be either side where the roof meets the walls, or the TV antenna. Has anyone ever had a leak here before?

Alternatively, has anyone ever used any sort of "leak finder" dye solution?

Dave

When I had water in the front ceiling lights it was coming in through the center seam on both TMs. Eternabond tape to the rescue.

Years ago I had a small leak through the batwing TV antenna - not around he base, but in the socket where the mast is mounted. Commodor47 clued me in to the fact that according to the Winegard manual, some lube is supposed to be dropped into the socket once in a while. I've never known anyone who did it - still don't - but it cured the leak. Check the manual for details.

Thanks, Shane and Bill, much appreciated. I did notice a few drops coming from the TV antenna months ago, but then it stopped for some reason. I'm going to take a much closer look at the seam, and then regardless, lube or seal any points of possible intrusion with the antenna. I'll dig the manual out to see where that socket is....

Had the problem more than once always the seal around the vent, slightly tighten the screws, always fixed it.

I had a leak in those lights as well. It was coming from the center seam up near the a/c shroud. It was coming in there, then running down the channel where the wires go through the center of the roof into the light fixtures at the other end of the forward shell.

I resealed all the roof vents a few years ago -- removed them, cleaned all the sealant off, and reinstalled, and haven't had a leak (yet), so I'm inclined to think that spot is less likely to be the culprit.

Another vote for the center seam.....time to get some parts ordered and get up on the roof....

If you want to reinstall the center trim I have two big rolls of it in white… Bought it to do my roofs then realized they were junk. TM only sells it in black now.
