Default What is the button switch that depresses when you raise the shower wall?

Hi gang...

New owner here, trying to learn my way.

Prior owner said this little button switch was the "master". Nothing would work unless the shower wall was up, and the button was depressed.

I believe I'm looking at the correct schematic, and I don't even see that switch.

Help?

TIA,
J

The switch is on the left side of the top of the lower shower wall. When you lift the upper shower wall into place, the bottom of that wall will push the button on top of the switch down. That will allow electricity to flow to the lights in the rear upper shell and some other items.

All of the lights in the front roof should work anytime. That switch doesn't effect the forward roof.

You didn't mention the manufacturing year of your TM, so I'll offer a couple notes to expand on Wavery's answer.

The original purpose of the switch was to make sure that the incandescent lights on the ceiling of the rear shell couldn't be left on when the TM was closed, which would press those very hot lights into the rear bedding. Fire hazard, in other words.

In recent years (my 2020 TM, for example), TM began using LED lights in those fixtures. The switch was rewired so it does not control the rear shell lights - but it does shut off a couple other things, to reduce battery drain when the TM is closed.

Wow, that could be a disaster! Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm going to change all of the lights to LED. I've done that in other rigs I've had. Thanks.

John, welcome to the forum. If I can suggest, add the model number, version and year of TM you have in your signature block. It helps so other owners can give answers quicker. Several of us added our modifications too.
