Hey Bruce, Just for grins try to back the inside screws off a bit! When I tinted my windows and replaced the screen I was careful to lightly torgue a little at a time and they slide easily without lube! I believe they ran them in with a screw gun till it stopped! A word to the wise though, be prepared to replace several snapped screw heads! I replaced the screws with aluminum hexhead 5/16 drill bit screws of the same length!

Maybe bees wax could be used as a lubricant. The spray may not last as long.

In my case they ran the screws in until the window frame bent! I loosened the screws and unbent the frame as best I could, and they do work better now. But a little silicone every year seems to help as well.

Never thought of beeswax, or wax in general. With rubber door seals and so on, I've always thought silicone. Maybe that spray lube from Lowe's that Bill talks about would work well too. IIRC it's wax based, and I have some already.

We have not tried to open our awning yet. We hope it works well when we take it out in 2 weeks We just purchesed it a few weeks back and have it stored where we cant open the awning. But I will make sure we have a Trinity along A very good idea.

I don't think I would use bees wax. It will stay sticky and attract dirt. Silicone spray would be your best bet.

Well, adjusting the 'top' nuts on the arm attachments narrowed the gap a lot...and silicone spray totally fixed the problem of the arm sticking at one end.

I just can't get the other end to close completely (still about a quarter inch gap), but I'm a lot happier with the way things are now
