When I replace my brakes. i'm most likely going to buy the self adjusting brakes from Dexter for like $10 more per side. NEV-R-ADJUT.

This tells me they bought the assets of the old company, but not the company itself. You offer money for the Trailmanor name, on hand inventory, machinery and step away from the old company. That insulates the new company from any skeletons in the closet. This is one of the best ways to protect yourself from recalls and lawsuits related to product you didn't build yourself. I've been involved in several acquisitions over the years and this is the only way I would purchase a non-publicly traded company. (which I have no desire to ever do)

Unfortunately, all the old records stay with the old company.
