Concur with the smaller tote. We have an 11 gallon one, and that's all the wife and I care to lift. We have seen some "scary adventures" with folks trying to tow a bigger one to the dump station, and don't want to go that route.

Generally, if we are camping somewhere without full hook-ups (barbarian!) we're not there long enough to worry about emptying the Thetford. We just dump at the dump station on the way out.

Just as a note, I never filled the 11 gallon tote.Just what was in the Electramagic. It seemed to be the best made one and was about the same size as smaller ones. I wouldn't want to lift a full one either.

One additional tip: when I have to dump my Thetford with a closed camper, before I close it down-assuming it is not full- I rinse the inside of the toilet well and spray a bit of toilet disinfectant into the bowl. While this is not as good as a complete flush with the TM open, I find it does help to keep the bowl " fresher."
