My question has more to do with how you mount a 2" receiver on the rear frame of a TM 3124KS. My TM has the no rear bumber but rather a trunk with a removeable lid. The receiver would have to be bolted or welded to the steel from under the trailer and extend out under the trunk and even possibly bend up and out to get high enough off the road surface. I have the hitch hauler and I know you can buy extensions to raise them up, but I'm just uncertain how to attach the receiver to the frame itself. Any ideas out there?

Factory hitch if you want to carry any significant weight. the bumper is 1/8" which is pretty thin. I welded backing to mine for a custom job.

2720- I have a Kipor 3000 watter, weighs 150 pounds with 3 gal of gas - My TV (Trailblazer) can handle 550 pounds tongue weight.
I removed the two Propane bottles and bolted the Kipor to the propane bottle plate. The Kipor fits rather nicely behind the tongue jack. I carry the propane bottles in crates inside the TM. I run the generator on the TM using a fan to blow away the exhaust.

Storage for generators
We almost bought 2 2000's but settled for one 3000 Honda generator. What a great buy those are!
We did mount a flatbed on the rear receiver of the TM (ours is a 3023) and the generator is centered right over the support. It has ridden that way without issue (105 lbs) for a couple of thousand miles now. Not sure if we're stressing the receiver in any way but it appears fine. I have also seen TM's with canoes and bikes mounted on top (one actually had an upright roof top rack for their bikes).

We have the Honda EU2000i and we just put it inside the camper while towing. Not a big deal and we have never noticed any odor from it. Putting 2 inside would be no problem either.

I saw a TM for sale that had a propane gen mounted in a cut out that was under the bench opposite of the water tank. so it would have been on the side with the entry door under the bench. It was a slick looking install and I have actually been looking to do that same install myself.

Propane or gas, there is no way I would stay in a TM with a generator in it or that close to it. The TM is not that air tight.

Hey I saw that too! I was intrigued! I wish there had been more photos of the install. I gotta say that in my old class C, we didn't run the gen very often because it made the whole coach vibrate and we could definitely hear it. It was an inboard Onan. I forgot, did that one slide out? I would like to have outside access to a slider under the bench just to get to the stuff stored there (like a class A!) Anyway, hope you'll give an update and your ideas if you really get serious about it.

Maybe it's a storage location only. When in operation it is removed from it' s storage location and plugged in about 20 to 30 ft.way from the TM. I think that's how I'd make use of that mod, but I carry the "twins" in the back of the truck to keep the weight down in the trailer. I feel better knowing that the heavy stuff is over the TV axle and tires.
