Looks like I found a tire shop just north of D.C. who will order what I want. I'm working to install the lift kit tomorrow if the weather gets better around here. I'll let everyone know what happens, both with the lift kit installation and tire and wheel order.

Lift kit installed! Looks good. Neither DH or I have any welding experience, so we're going to forgo that step. The wheels and tires come in tomorrow. Hopefully we'll like the tires. The guy over at Merchants tire said they were Carrier brand. He thinks they are better than both Maxxis and Marathon. I can't find anything about that brand on the internet. I called him again today and he said they are a much better tire. Anyone know about this brand?

It is strange that a tire brand could successfully hide from Google.

Did you try looking for it also? I still can't find anything about it. Hopefully someone has experience with this brand of tire. Not feeling to confident about this guy now...

Installed the lift kit today following Waynes great instructrions. Got the new wheels and tires mounted as well. I concur with him that guys over 60 doing this need to soak for an hour in a hot tub. I'm adding a good scotch to that prescription

I'm not quite 60, but seem to need a hot tub and scotch after doing most anything slightly strenuous!

Congrats on getting it done, it's a good feeling when a plan comes together.

Picked up the new 15" tires and wheels today. They look great! They are 'Karrier' Load Star's. The shop manager surprised me and purchased the Dexstar wheels and didn't charge extra. He included the TR-416 stems, balanced and the total came to less than $500. My DH was very pleased when he looked at the tires and saw the max pressure was 65 psi for these tires. Nicer ride! Too bad they are sitting in the back of the Tahoe. Raining today, but hopefully they'll get installed tomorrow.

I'm thinking of NOT modifying the spare tire rack and using it to carry a Barker blue waste tote. May need to modify, but it will be worth it. I think we'll carry the spare in the tow vehicle or I'm thinking of using a hitch mounted spare tire carrier on the back of the TM like this one: http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Carg...rt/c31006.html

Now what size tote...
