Door jam now fits
I followed Doug and Debbie's guidance on jacking the exterior wall at the door jam to get the exterior wall back to level with the floor. Set about four of their recommended screw & washer combinations, and sure enough when I released the jack the floor held the wall in place. The door wing piece now fits like factory new.
I will say that the jacking step is not for the faint of heart. And, in our 3124, the cabinetry along the wall limits how much movement one can achieve between the exterior wall and the floor. But right at the door jam, I have about three inches of clear wall. I took off the little black thread covered piece at the bottom of the jam so I could actually see the wood of the floor to guide my jacking effort. With a considerable force I was able to push the wall up so there was no wood showing, then I set the screws.
Thanks Debbie and Doug for the calls and your notes. Larry
