Bill, You are not the only one, by the time we left Phx, and arrived in N. Las Vegas the door was swinging. SO I pulled into a home depot and grabbed some industrial velcro and stuck that on the door and has been good ever since. I like your latch method but the wife said someone would lock us in and steal the truck. hahaha I said good it's insured if that would happen.

We have also had experience of door swinging open. I have been using blue painter's tape, but like the velcro idea much better. An easy fix plus will look better than the blue painter's tape.

Same problem as well. We modified the hole that the door handles latch bolt mechanism sat in, by boring the hole larger. We discovered that the door wasnt fully engaging in the closed position. To insure more security we also added a simple eye hook latch with the springy thingy you have to pull back to unlatch/unhook. Stayed secure our entire trip.

Default Entry door opens

I like your solution, I will be taking a trip to my local Loews/HD.
We had the plastic latch break on us.

Check this out… Someone on the TrailManor Fans Facebook page was concerned about the upper door not being overly secure. This is what we came up with. I bet it would help keep the upper door closed during travel, too!

I have had my door swing open about 3 times in the 2 years I’ve had my trailmanor. And On my last trip I had the door swing open again. So I looked for a solution and I picked up the very same gate latch about 2 weeks ago. One less thing to worry about. My heart sank when I glanced in the mirror and saw the door swing open as I was coming to a stop.
