I did the entire in an afternoon. It’s not hard. But you’ll also have to figure out how to close the vent hole in the roof…

As for motivation to swap out the Thetford, we never really had an odor issue. But we religiously used it overnight and for emergencies only and strictly used Thetford Aqua-Kem (formaldehyde) toilet treatment. But just knowing how it works bothered me so we made the swap. Now that toilet gets out through its paces with full use whenever we are camping and we’ve never had an incident odor problem.

Thanks Lars,
My 2023 model is quite a bit more recent than most of your docs, but as Shane was saying, there's not necessarily much that's changed depending on the subsystem. So I appreciate you sharing.. Take care!

TrailManor can’t vent this way due to RV codes. But everyone who has installed their own Dometic SeaLand Traveller 711-M28C toilet (that’s what you have, by the way) vents it through the wall.
Hi Shane, do you recall if you were able to order that part for the 1 1/2 inch hose? On the Amazon web site they list a part which is supposed to fit a 5/8ths inch hose and another part which fits a 1 1/2 inch hose. I keep ordering the 1 1/2 inch part with the 90 degree bend and Amazon keeps sending me the 5/8ths part. Amazon is now investigating why the part description on their web site is not accurate but I'm beginning to wonder if the 1 1/2 inch part exists at all since I can't seem to find something like that from another manufacturer.

I honestly don’t recall. I’m pretty sure I ordered the one that says “one size” but it’s been a while.

I ordered the "one size" and also the 3 1/4. The only difference was that one had the 90 degree bend and the other didn't but both were for 5/8ths hoses, (contrary to the description of the parts) Not a good fit for the 1 1/4 opening on the toilet vent.
