The tailgater requires a VIP211z receiver and since we have 2 hookups at home we just take a receiver along. We have the Dish remote and a separate TV remote for our Sansuai tv. We hardly ever use our HD antenna .

We have a Hopper3 and wireless Joeys. We have a Wally ordered for the TM.
Can you watch your recorded shows from your home dvr while you are on the road?

BTW, what part of Texas do you call home? We're in NWHouston

We don't have a dvr with our setup.
We are located in Shiner, about 125 miles from Houston.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure this would help us. We aren't looking for a means of carrying pre-recorded material with us. We want to have the capability to watch what is now recorded and what will be recorded while we are on the road. We may be on the road for 6-8 weeks at a time.

We make heavy us of the dvr. Our daughter told us that the dvr "will change your life", and she was right!

The dvr allows us complete control of our viewing time.
