Also I think Dave's way only covers the two folding walls & he uses the existing curtain track for the outside trailer wall & the entrance opening.
You are describing the same modification we made:

The shower curtains do eventually allow water to wick through onto any surface they touch (much like tent canvas). Once the bottom of the curtain is wet you can gently pull it down against the sidewall of the tub enclosure. Keeping the curtain from touching (as much as possible) the top of the tub wall or the side of the toilet prevents the condition you describe.

I got the idea to do what I did based on what other folks did here....that's what is so great about this forum. I did remove the towel bar. We just got back from Joshua Tree, so I just read the updates to this thread. I will take some additional shots of the shower in the next day or two and get them up.

All I can say is, I always ask myself why did we wait so long to do this....now showers are actually pleasurable instead of a rushed experience trying to avoid a wet curtain touching my butt. Ugh.

Thanks Dave,

Do you think the Velcro is going to hold when it gets Summer time Hot? I have never had that good of luck with Velcro sticking long term here. I have been thinking I need to go & explore HomeDepot or Lowes for a good mounting system.

From what I see you are covering two walls with the curtain & I assume you are covering the outside wall & the open side with the track curtain correct?

Thanks Dick,

I understand the tent concept I was a Boy Scout but how does the tub wall or the side of the toilet prevent future water damage if water does go thru the curtain onto the floor?

I hope so. We have a thermometer inside the TM that records the high temp, and it has gotten to 90 degrees inside when all closed up and the velcro is still firmly attached. But we also have very low humidity here in SoCal -- 20-40% usually.

Search the forum a bit. There are a number of threads on this topic, including one from maybe 6 months ago where I asked another member about the method he used -- basically a track that mounted (screwed, I believe) to the wall, press vinyl into the track, and then slide a piece of plastic through the track on top of the vinyl, holding the vinyl in place. No velcro to pull off in the heat, and still easy to replace the vinyl when it gets nasty. He had gotten everything from Ace Hardware, and the part numbers are included in that thread.

Exactly. The polyester curtain on the track will weep water eventually if manhandled, but we've never had any water seep through and onto the floor, despite the showerhead being pointed almost directly on it. If it becomes a problem, you can replace the polyester curtain with a vinyl one for 100% waterproofing -- it just won't be as flexible.

Stapling is certainly an option, but I'd be sure to use sort sort of backing material, like a plastic washer or something, to prevent the curtain from pulling out. But it sounds like that hasn't been an issue. I would try to find stainless staples.

Dave I almost always search before asking a question LOL I even saved the pics of the track.

I do know about that one but the track didn't look heavy duty enough to hold the thicker shower curtain material.

Dave I almost always search before asking a question LOL

Not sure if I explained that very well, but . . . we have never had the shower water wick through the curtain onto the the floor . . . unless it is in contact with the side or the corner of the toilet. The curtain will stay tight up against the inside wall of the bathtub once it is wet (and you've gently tugged it down and against the inside tub wall). At that point any water that wicks through will land in the tub.
