I can't imagine that they would have both. I don't see any upside to that. However, I may be wrong and like you, I'm not drilling through it to find out.

The normal design for camper floors is just bolting down a large surface of OSB (particle board) and building up from there. Most manufacturers leave the OSB untreated so that any moisture can escape.

The perimeter frame of the floor has always been (and still is, to the best of my knowledge) made of wood - 2x4's, I think. Once the frame is formed, the foam is expanded into the middle and the aluminum sheets applied to both sides. You could confirm the presence of foam by sliding under the TM on your back, and looking up into one of the big holes that have been cut into the floor for vents. There is one under the bathroom, as I recall, and more under the refrigerator.

The change from wood to aluminum that you refer to is in the front and rear shells, not the floor.

Back to the carpet issue. I have thought about changing out the old flooring but am stumped when it comes to how to complete the flooring when you get to where the front shell slides over the center shell. In our 2720SL we have the couch up front so there is also some carpeting on the floor of the front shell that turns under and im sure is somehow secured. Anyone done a complete flooring retrofit on a 2720SL?
