Last year on a trip we ran the AC on a normal exterior cord and it was ok. The cord got very warm though. I just got a 100 ft 10 g cord for the trip this year online for $86 with free shipping. I wanted one for last year but couldn't make it with shipping times when I thought of it.

Wasn't "just" a 10 ga extension but also a 20A fuse or circuit breaker. 12 gauge is OK but 14ga may get hot.

The issue is not so much the run current (11-12A) but the 60A starting surge for a stock AC (for more than you ever wanted to know, see here ). It only lasts for a few milliseconds but will usually pop a 15A (most home outlet wiring is 14GA and with a 15A breaker). When I had my back garage built the outlet wiring was all 10 GA on 20A breakers. Also paid $200 extra for all copper wiring when I had the house built- no aluminum.

Have been trying to decide what to do now that am retired. One possibility has been a properly engineered power system for travel trailers that includes dry camping with AC. Suspect there are others who would like their AC to run reliably on a Honda EU2000i, the standard of the travel world. (AC and coffee takes a little more grunt).

Just an update for everyone on here. I went ahead and purchased the 2006 2720QB that I found online in Ohio. Have a transport company picking it up this Friday and the expect to deliver it to CA next Wednesday (dropping it off at Custom RV in Ontario) to have everything checked out and get some work done to it.

I want to thank everyone who helped check out the unit from the photos and answer my ga-zillion questions. I will post photos when I get it!

Congratulations!
I'll keep an eye out for it when I'm there Thursday.

Custom RV (2400 mile round trip) where it sat 5 months waiting for parts
and repairs before I gave up and traded it in for a loss of close to $8K.
9,600 miles we traveled during the 11 months of ownership dealing exclusively
with repairs of this POS Trailmanor.

If it is there check it out for me. A little too late to do anything about it, but would like to know what you think if you see it. I won't go over to check it out until it is ready for me to pick up.

So bad news, the shipper essentially lied to me. Doesn't look like it is being picked up today.

I've just about had it with auto transport brokers. I have the TM listed on uship, but haven't gotten any bids yet. Does anyone know of any reputable SHIPPING companies, NOT brokers? I'd like to try to find a company that actually does the shipping, and not a company that will just post my TM on a board and wait for a shipper. I want to cut out the middle man. Thanks all.

Looks like I found another shipper (broker) that was able to find a driver to pick up today and deliver Monday. I'll let you guys know if it actually gets picked up and on it's way. After all this stress, I'm going to need a vacation...IN MY TM!

Sounds like you need to find a way to get it yourself, that would allow a local inspection.

When I picked up the Judge, it was in Joplin, MO. Left Orlando after work on Friday with a friend/codriver. Was in Joplin at 10am, spent a few hours there and back on the road by 2pm, back home by noon on Sunday including one shredded tire (on rack). 2600 mile round trip.
