Personally think the idea of the current TMs with 42" extensions on each end plus a slide is brilliant and focus should be there.
That said, tuning the torsion bars seems to be more an art than a science akin to tuning six DCOE webers, gotta have a Uni-Syn to do that.
Get it tuned right and can open with one hand like the factory says (they don't mention what it takes to close when tuned like that).
I suspect that proper tuning requires either templates or specific measurements at four points on each module when unlatched but not raised. Would be very nice if the factory would release an SOI for field maintenance and tuning. Right now mine requires a grunt for initial opening but closes by hand. With a link to assist with initial opening I suspect that would be about right.
Real problem would be that while such a SOI would be easy for my 2720SL, creating a universal one would take a day with access to all of the current models. Am really surprised TM has never done this.
I have little free time but maybe able to get started this Saturday iff'n th' crik don't rise. Maybe the factory needs to associate themselves with a professional engineer skilled in writing tech manuals.

I'm sure that as soon as the people in the front office read this, they will be offering you a job.
