Default Re:Has anyone made new curtains?

Has anyone used insulated drapery material for curtains? Ours are only a couple of years old, but when camping in the cold (down to lower 20's at night), the window areas were very cold and we got a lot of condensation. I don't know if the insulated type drapery material would lessen condensation or not, but it should make the window areas a little warmer. Another concern re: cold weather camping and condensation on the windows - if I used the insulated material for new curtains, would the condensation dry more slowly? Actually, I used a number of towels and wiped them down every morning to help the process along.

I've finished the living room curtains and its not the easiest job in the world and I sew all the time, by using the zipper foot it helped to hold the plastic strip even, but I found by folding your material over on the front like a valance you can hide those seams for the plastic underneath and not have to worry when there not too straight . I did pin the plastic on first, I'm trying to do away with the bottom track on the windows that don't necessary have to have them, we have a 3326 and I think where the back bed goes in the curtains will need to be both tracks and the other end where it is pushed in, I will let you know how it works out. It took me 1 day to cut material and another day to figure out how I wanted to make them, because I wanted something different, closing up the TM will tell the story, I'm thinking of adding velcro to the bottom where the track is if needed. I purchased the material at Walmart for $1.00 a yard, 10yds. 60 in. wide and that's the rest of the story .

Hi Mike,

I found the following post that had some good ideas for curtains:
http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...light=curtains

I liked the idea of using the buttons in place of the plastic track. I also liked the idea of possibly dying the curtains. Or, you can contact the TM factory and sounds like they will send you new curtains and valances for a price - I recall reading a post with some recents prices for these, but don't remember the details.

If you tackle this project, I'd be interested in seeing pics. Good luck!

ve the ideas of dye for the curtains. Suggest use old curtains to measure by, that should be a pretty good estimate, unless there were no curtains.

Default Redid the interior

Hi All,

I have an 2001 3326 and dyed the curtains dark green and recovered the couch with an western/Indian looking fabric and am having the dinette recovered with an sage colored fabric.

One thing about the dying it does shrink the curtains so I stretched them during drying by hanging them with weights on the bottom pulling. This worked OK but still tight, but look great.

I put 1 1/2 inch memory foam on the couch before covering and WOW it's nice to sit on. The dinette cushions are getting the same 1 1/2 inch memory foam added while recovering.

I don't have pic's yet (broke the camera in Vegas) but will get some posted soon.

Good luck

Default Hey countrygirl

Thanks, I'm having a great time rebuilding the unit. To tell the truth I did not pick the colors I'm a tool guy so I had my sister and other lady's pick them for me. hahaha

I'll post picks as soon as I'm finished with the forward shell rebuild (rotten wood).

Later

Default Measurement between window tracks

I know this thread has not been open in a while but my RV is in the hospital and the wife has made new curtains. What is the measurement between the middle of the upper track and the middle of the lower track? These are the original tracks installed in the TM.

Thanks

Mike
