Here's another Keurig type coffeemaker that doesn't require electricity:

That is pretty cool. I'm adding it to my wishlist. We already have a single serve maker that takes K cups for the TM, but it uses electricity. This is intriguing. and gets great reviews!

Both of these non-electric K-cup makers use the exact same principle. They work great if you follow directions. Some people give these a low star rating because they pour the water in and plunge it way too quickly thus claiming the coffee is too weak.

I pour the hot water in and wait a good 30 seconds to swell up the coffee grounds before I even put the plunger on. Then when I plunge, I pace it so that it takes a good 60 seconds.

The electric Kerug machines push water through slowly not because the mechanics can't do it fast, it's to allow proper extraction of the coffee taste from the grounds.

We use an OXO french press https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LXOIY0..._jFvrzbSAD9ME9 that we have found to be sturdier than most of them out there. (We've broken many a Bodim and Grosche beaker). Not perfect, as you can see in the reviews, but easier to clean with the silicone filter than most french presses. We just pour through a strainer to eliminate any grinds.

We purchased a 4 cup version when we found ourselves camping with no way to make coffee , and it was the only choice we had at the time. Liked it so well that we got an 8 cup version for home use. Any beaker than can last over a year in our household has got to be tough, and we've had both coffee makers over a year now with no breaks!

Anyone have a new or better way to make coffee in the TM? We don't drink coffee any more but would like to hear from you with any new ideas.
I just drink Turmeric tea now.

Pour over coffee makers work quite well. There are lots to choose from, like this one:

My wife loves her espresso drinks. She’s getting this for her birthday to try in the camper.

While I haven't tried the "newer" methods like the Aeropress, I gave up on drop coffee makers when the coffee just seemed weak and not hot enough. Although, the Cuisinart did make hotter coffee.

In this modern age, I perk my coffee. I have also found that store bought roasted beans don't taste that great no matter how you brew it. To clean the percolator, put some machine dishwasher detergent into the basket and brew that once a week. Otherwise, the coffee does take on some bitter tastes.

As for store bought coffee, there is often too much bitterness from over roasting, or the beans are stale. So, a couple of years ago I did an experiment and bought some freshly roasted beans from JJ Bean and, wow, what a difference! But we both suffer from acid reflux so we need to roast decaf darker without making it bitter which is hard to find, so I got a Behmor roaster and I roast our coffee now.

As for the stove top percolator, try this out. Bring it up to percholating, then let it perc very gently for about 15 minutes. I got some nutty (not crazy nutty, just nutty) flavours that way.
