Looking at a 2005 2720 TM
Hi, looking at 2720 TM Wednesday afternoon. They're asking 6500. We've driven by and looked at the exterior. It looks very clean, tires look good no evidence of any damage other than what the seller told us. They said the sewage tank drain valve broke when they had a tire blow out on that side. I checked it out and its the smaller 1 1/2" line. Im assuming thats the grey water line? We've never owned a TM but it looks as though i could just get a new valve and glue it on? Is that line standard pvc or is there another type of glue i need.
Also, any input on anything related to a 2720 would be greatly appreciated. 2005, 2720.
Thanks!

Yes, the 1-1/2 inch line is the gray water line. Is it the drain valve itself that broke? Or is it part of the pipe that connects to the tank, or between the tank and the valve?
If the valve itself is broken, it is simple to replace. The valve actually consists of three parts - two end pieces that are glued to the pipe, and a slide gate that is bolted between the end pieces.
Note that it is common for the drain valves for the 3" sewer line and the 1-1/2 inch gray water line to be combined in one assembly. Take a look at etrailer.com and put something like "waste drain valve" in the search box. Lotsa pictures, and semi-reasonable prices. The attached picture (below) shows an example, but there are a dozen different configurations. You will need to figure out what you have, and replace it.

Looking at a 2005 2720 TM
Bill,
Thanks for your response. It is the line thais broke from the tank and the valve is gone. The 3" line and valve seems to be fine. Thank you for the picture. It clears it up for me on how they connect together. My original thought was that they were 2 separate valves because where it broke is right before it makes the 90 deg turn into the main valve assembly. Mow I understand how it is constructed. It looks as though I may need that whole assembly. From what i see from your picture, I will also need to cut the line straight, add a coupling and a 90 to plumb the whole assembly together. Thanks again and I'm very happy to be part of this community.

Bear in mind that the picture I attached was an example, not a picture of your specific assembly. You will need to find out how your valve assembly is put together, and duplicate that one.

Based on the assumption your newly acquired 2005 TM has the same dump valve arrangement as our 2003 unit, I've attached a few thumbnail photos that may help with your repair.

There seems to be two different configurations. One with both the 3 and 1.5 inch joined together. And one where the run them separate.
I think the gray water pipe is what they call 1.5" the OD will be about 1-7/8.
