My dear wife wanted to re-purpose the wardrobe for a pantry and/or bedding and such. I wasn't really ready to permanently commit to the change so I made these adjustable shelves.
I made a simple jig for my drill press and used 1 1/2" forstner bit to drill the uprights. These were mounted without glue to the front and back corner pieces on the right and left sides of the wardrobe using wood screws. I then rounded off the ends of 1x2s so that I can slide them between the uprights at the height my wife requests. The shelves were cut to fit and notched out at the corners to fit without gaps.
Pictures are shown before sanding and finishing (which I might get around to in the next few weeks).
