Default Icon tank vent fitting

I can't seem to find anything that fits the vent hole on the Icon tank. I copied this picture to show that someone found something that fits. I'm ready to just wrap tape around the 1-1/2" stuff I have bought that is just slightly too small. Does anybody know what the white fitting is in this picture that is in that hole?

Have you checked the Icon web site?

I have checked the website. I also emailed them, still waiting on an answer. I wrapped it with gorilla tape to make a snug fit for now.

What size did you drill the hole?

I made my vent out of 1/2" PVC pipe fittings and epoxied them into my custom waste tank lid. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the completed fitting but it's pretty much like the picture that you posted.

Obviously, you've already mounted your toilet so it would requite that you take the toilet off to insert the male side of that fitting through the toilet opening.

If the hole is small enough, you could just screw a 3/4" pipe threaded PVC fitting into the hole and smear the treads with epoxy.

Another solution might be to install your fitting into a 3"x3" piece of 1/2" plywood and simply screw that plywood over the existing hole and use epoxy to seal the attachment. (screw and glue). Be sure to coat the (pre-drilled) plywood on all sides with epoxy resin. Let dry for 24hrs, sand, prime and paint to match before installing.

I didn't drill a hole, it came from the factory this way.

I got my reply from Icon. It seems my tank has an oversize fitting installed. I guess I wrap my pipe with tape and hope it seals out the smell.

What size is the hole? Do you have a picture?

The tape idea isn't a good one.

The tank is located just behind the trailer axle and there is a LOT of jarring in that location as you go down the road. There's a pretty good chance of the pipe coming out of the hole while you are towing. If your tank is empty, not a big deal but if there is anything in the tank, it could be a mess.

There has to be a way to install a decent, secured fitting in that tank.

The hole measures 1.996 inches according to my calipers.

I bet you could find something to go in there....it's a 2" hole. Try McMaster-Carr. If nothing else, something could be readily 3D printed to spec using ABS.

You could reduce that hole with a 2" - 3/4" ABS reducer.

I can find them in PVC (white) but they are harder to find in ABS (black). If worst comes to worst, you can use the PVC one but you will have to use this cement:
https://www.amazon.com/Oatey-Green-T...s%2C172&sr=8-2

https://www.amazon.com/Spigot-FNPT-R...l%2C336&sr=1-1

Then find a 3/4" male threaded PVC hose nipple of the appropriate size for your hose.
