Window Torque Operator for rear window
I'm posting this for reference in case someone else needs to replace this. This was very difficult to find. I didn't see a reference to it on the forum, and the factory had no replacement parts and could not tell me what to buy.
When I bought my Trailmanor the round knob that opens the rear window was broken off. I determined that I needed to replace the mechanism the round handle is attached to. It took me forever just to determine what part I needed.
I first browsed many photos, then finally found a part number. With this information, I only found the part at one online retailer, Pelland Enterprises. It was fairly expensive considering they required a minimum purchase greater than the part and a hefty shipping fee. To get to the minimum order, I ended up buying some needed window screen spline from them as well since they had this, and it is not a standard size you can buy at hardware stores.
So here's what is needed:
Hehr Torque Operator
Model Number: H008-220

I've been trying to figure out this exact part! Now, what's involved to install it?

Ben -
There is a lesson here for everyone. Like most RV makers, TM buys finished assemblies (like windows) and appliances (like the toilet) from the companies that make windows and toilets, and then TM puts those finished assemblies together to make a trailer. TM does NOT make windows or toilets, and since they deal only with the finished assembly, they have no need to stock the component parts. If they were to stock all the individual screws, levers, washers, seals and knobs for all the assemblies they use, their warehouse would be huge, and their cost to buy and store all those parts would be enormous, and people would complain about "corporate greed" when they are told that a $1 part will cost them $10.
So what is the lesson? If you need a part for a Thetford toilet, or a Hehr window, go to Thetford or Hehr. Or more likely, try an online appliance parts dealer - there are a ton of them. But time spent trying to get a Thetford part or a Hehr part from TM is generally time wasted.

and once you have a manufacturer and part number it is usually available at Amazon, eBay, Camping World, or eTrailer. (low price with free shipping is a Good Thing).
As mentioned TM just makes the parts unique to TM which are mainly wall panel assembly, opening/closing pieces, and interior woodwork/fabrics (may even farm out frames and torsion bars). Some things (mainly electrics) could stand improving.
Sometimes wish it was closer, would be fun to develop inexpensive improvements & beat on suppliers for what is needed again.

Basically, you just remove the screws above the torque operator, and remove the butterfly bracket opposite the torque operator. It's slightly tricky to get a screwdriver in there to remove the butterfly bracket screws, but it can be done. I had a little trouble reinstalling, but found if I didn't tighten them all until all were threaded it was fine. Other than that, it was a little tricky getting the lower half of the rear window back in. Basically, the upper half of the lower window slides into a channel on the bottom half of the top window. Like most things, once you do it once, you could probably quickly do it a second time. It wasn't that big of a deal, but took some finagling.
I uploaded a video to YouTube that I filmed for myself to help remember how it went back together. It's mostly raw video and pretty incomplete as an instructional video, but I had it and thought it would give you an idea of what's involved.

I just watched this video again and it looks like we have different rear windows. Can you post a couple pictures of the window so I can confirm whether they are the same, and order the part if it’s correct? Thanks!

Thanks! I think mine is in fact different. Pretty sure the busted knob is on the lower right, not in the middle. I’ll double check when I open it up this week for the end of season cleaning...

thanks for sharing your info. I know twice in the past I have needed operators for very old windows. There must be several hundred operators that are all different. Finally I found a window parts supplier that had a niche for having just about any window part.

I always appreciate it when people posts things like this. There are a lot of parts on the TM that can take forever to find unless people post them here. I wonder if anyone would like to see a new category about where to find parts for the TM that the factory doesn't carry. I think it would be very helpful.
