Default Kitchen light replacement

Well, I decided to replace the florescent light over the kitchen with an LED light. I purchased one from Amazon and installed it today. I purchased the "Gold Stars F3528012 LED".
It took about an hour from start to finish, mainly cause I'm slow. I also had to get a small power driver to drill new holes for the screws. The new light is longer; on the old light the wires came out from a hole centered on the assembly. So to get the new assembly wires to align with the ceiling hole, I had to drill a new hole on the new light. Since it was closer to the bathroom material that hangs from the ceiling for the wall, I had to double check that the forward wall would go into position with the new light and it has more than enough room. It seems bright, but I will double check once it's dark out in a couple of hours to see if I'm happy with this new light. If it is bright enough, I will replace my other lights with this same light.

Nice,

Had not seen the LED with a tube that looks like a florescent tube.

$40 at Amazon isn't too bad. One guy said that it interfered with his television reception.

So far, I have changed all by my interior lights except the fluorescent fixtures with LEDs.
Have to see how Kidraz likes these after he's tried them for awhile, then I'll consider changing to them.

We changed all our bulbs to LED's. The fluorescent fixtures we removed and got double wide fixtures that are the same design as the rest of the camper single fixtures and changed the bulbs to led. We like these fixture since the switch allows us to light one or two LED's. In the bath it turned out very nice, because we used a dim and bright LED. You can turn the dim LED for the middle of the night use and both when you want bright light.

Don't know anything about the TV. I have never had a TV in the camper. Radio works great.

Just FWIW, it shouldn't be difficult to suppress the TV interference if you are willing to add a couple inexpensive components inside the light's housing. I don't know why the mfrs didn't do this.

I got these LED strips from a place on the Internet called JR and you bypass the high voltage circuit and just tap into the 12v wire after the switch. The one thing I found out with LEDs is that if you want to match the lumens that flourescent put out watt for watt, LEDs do not save you a ton of power. That's because flourescent bulbs are quite efficient themselves. LEDs do save a ton of power when compared to filament bulbs.

Yes, if it is the company out of CA I've used them with good service/price to replace all my incandescent bulbs, but have left my fluorescents.

Brittany Dogs; Nice conversion. Do you have a link for JR? I been looking for those light strips and didn't find JR with a google search. Thank you.
