Folding Table Leg

The folding table legs on the slide next to the sofa have never worked properly & have collapsed before so I decide to replace them. Amazon had several but the AP Products 013-070 Adjustable Folding Table Leg seemed to be the same unit so I ordered a pair. Second picture shows it next to the nonfunctional leg.

On receipt, they seemed identical to the originals. There is a slightly less expensive model AP Products 013-135 that may work as well & has a simpler mechanism but has a different appearance.

A little late, I know, but I'll post it for others. The secret of the table leg is this. When you are ready to collapse the table, you push the little button, then slide the lower part of the leg into the upper part. Push the lower part up only an inch or two. If you push it all the way in, it will jam every time.

Agree except with the 070 you pull the T-bar to disengage the button and then it slides freely. Agree it only needs to collapse an inch or two. There is a stop at the end of the leg to keep it from going in too far and this can jam if insistant..

There are four pieces to the 070 leg. The fixed channel with mount, the sliding channel with the rubber foot, the T-bar and the spring with the lock button. On the one leg the latter two were missing entirely but on the other they had seperated and I was able to rebuild the assembly. So now I have a spare. I like having spares.

TM did put all eight screws in each mount to fasten to the table which was a plesant surprise, suspect some "lesser" manufacturers might have just used four.

And if you add a sheet metal screw at the place you want it to stop, it will never jam.

on the dinette table in my 2720SD there are 2 legs, one goes to the floor, I can not seem to find or see what the other one even does? anyone know .

The second shorter one is for when you fold the dinette down into a bed.

I did find this black switch hidden near the fan yesterday, it turns on the eyeball lights. what a silly place for that rocker switch.

You fold up the long leg and fold down the short leg when the dinette table is in bed mode. This supports the table end.

That is so you don't have to lean over the "bed", if it has been set up, to turn off those lights. Not really a bad location for a backup switch. Maybe yours don't have switches at the light. If not, I can see where that could be inconvenient for those lights. Different years have different switches.
