Question New TM Owners - rock guard

Hello,
My wife and I just purchased our first TM. It's a 2001 3124 King. The king bedroom window outside lid is busted and can't seem to be able to locate one in or around Denver Colorado. Any ideas?

What is the outside lid? Do you mean the " Stone Guard" which covers the entire window and can be up or down.

If that is it, you can order it direct from the factory.

Most TMs have both a front and a back rock guard. If it is the front one that is broken, and it no longer protects the glass against flying rocks, I think it is reasonably easy to switch them, putting the rear guard on the front and vice versa.

If yours is like mine (not guaranteed), you first completely release the supports on both sides of the guard. In other words, take the wing nuts and screws completely out of the rails and set them aside. Then open the guard wide, and slide it to the side. It is mounted at the top on a sliding rail of some kind, and you can just slide it right off the trailer. There should be no need to unscrew and remove any of the mounting hardware from the body of the trailer.

Until you get help from the factory, this might be a good solution that will allow you to continue traveling.

Did the 2001 TMs have the big window & guard or the newer, smaller style? I think someone mentioned the bigger style is discontinued.

Neither of my 2417s had a rear window cover. The rear will get some road grime if driving on wet roads, but that is easy to wipe off before setting up.

I would consider removing all hardware, and filling any mounting holes, and not worry about replacing the rear cover.

There are a couple of people I know of that have/had one, but shipping is horribly expensive. You really don't need one in the back. If it is the larger size, the factory doesn't make them any more.

The newer model TM's don't have a rock guard on the rear, because that window is now the emergency exit and the guard would defeat the purpose! We've not had any issues or breakage.

Default Window rock guards

Can anyone tell me where I can salvage front and rear window rock guards for my 2001 3124 King? New is fine too. I'm in Denver Colorado but wont mind paying shipping from out of state,
Thanks
Ron
