I took my first trip with the Kumho's. I'm using the 205R14 Kumho 857. It looked like they flattened out under load a bit more than the Marathons, so I ended up filling them to 65 lbs of air. (they were still flattened more than the Marathons, so I decided then that's how they are probably designed to ride). I'll probably let out some air for the next trip to soften the ride a bit.
That said, even with 65 lbs of air in it, and a rough road (I-25 north of Denver), it seemed less bouncy to the contents of my trailer than the Marathons were - no grills bouncing off the stove and such. I'm wondering if these tires, even with more air pressure, actually have a softer ride - but I don't know enough about tires to know for sure.
They are almost an identical height (slightly shorter) than the 14" Marathons, and are a bit narrower (as you would expect - a 205 vs. a 215), which is nice because the original tires were very close to the wheel well covers.
They are of course balanced and I replaced the valve stems with metal stems.
Thanks for the help on the rim size.
