LOL, you're right, we didn't want to go back to work either when we picked ours up! You should do just fine with the Dodge 1500, just make sure everything hitch-wise is tightened up and chained up. The tow package has extended mirrors?
And the camera! Bring it, and don't forget to take pictures!
We had so much fun playing with ours in the driveway after we bought it, but had to wait 3 months to take it out again (we did get to camp in it two nights on the way home).
If you haven't had a trailer before, you might want to consult one of the checklists here to see what else you might need if you plan on camping in it on the way home.
It took us all day to pick ours up and get everything ready to bring it home, the dealer lost the keys to the door (luckily we knew that you could just slide the front bed in if it wasn't latched; it wasn't), arranging payment, going back & forth to the bank, getting new locks, etc. By the time we picked it up and dragged it off, we were happy that we had booked a motel that night.
Hoping you spend many happy nights in your new TrailManor -
D'
