Heater Hazard Question

We have a 2014 2720QS with the heater located under the coach. My question is it safe to store items that maybe flammable like bedding, towels etc. next to the heater it self? Does the exterior of the metal heater box get Warm/Hot? Is the a Fire Hazard??

The furnace box itself is about 10" square, leaving a pretty good space between that and the seat bottom. There is no way the seat bottom could get hot enough itself to ignite regular clothing or bedding items. The only real fire hazard would be a propane leak which you would smell. And of course, this assumes the furnace and all propane appliances are in good working order.

Obviously, you won't want to store flammable substances anywhere inside the trailer. Here the danger is from spark ignition which could come from igniting the furnace, water heater, fridge, or stove.

Check me if I'm wrong, but the furnace lives inside its own wooden box under the couch, with the required clearances on all sides, including on top. You would never put anything else inside that box, and nothing should ever touch the metal of the furnace. But outside the box, all the other space under the couch is safe for the things you described.
