Default Custom trailmanor table?

My dinette table broke. The angled end snapped clean off when my nephew kneeled on it while the table was down in the bed configuration. Not really his fault. In my opinion its a poor design. I plan on making a custom one piece table with an adjustable post about 3' x 31". I was wondering if anyone else had every had their table break and if they had replaced it with something a bit stronger. If so pics would be great!

I have been afraid of that happening. Not a problem in my 2720 when my 150 pound nephew sleeps on it. But his dad (wife's brother) is blind, so he can not see where he is putting his foot climbing out of the front bed. At around 240 pounds I have no doubt that he can break it.

So I keep a piece of hardboard (Masonite) under the front mattress that has been cut to fit over the table and benches.

This will not solve your current problem, but may prevent a repeat.
