That would be correct, mine is mounted directly to the TM frame and the thin oem "bumper " cut out. I had a cargo carrier in the receiver I installed hauled at least 250-275 pounds of generator , cooler, and extra 10 gallons of fuel and strapped on those fold up camp chairs. I had no sway problem what so ever. Not sure if a cycle would cause any sway or not on my set up, as I have not tried that yet. They do make a cycle carrier that goes into the receiver that just lifts the front end of the bike up and it rolls along on it's rear tire. might be an option...

I have always thought the weight limit issue of 100 lbs by TM for the bike rack was a weight and balance thing and not a mechanical limit of the frame/hitch???

See the youtube trailer sway youtube sway
I assume this may be true for an unloaded trailer based on dry weight. Filled propane bottles alone would return another 20-50 lbs. If you load the trailer right, you could maintain decent tongue weight.

I tried the HF dual hitch extender on my 2006 Sequoia and 2720 with swing away hitch. Sorry no pics I already returned it, but I can share that it doesn't work. We expected the propane tanks to be the issue but it turns out the trailer jack is the problem. The manual crank arm is in the way of the bike rack. I'm using a simple Allen bike carrier like this one-

https://smile.amazon.com/Allen-Sport...ck+hitch+mount

We thought about switching up the bike rack to clear the jack arm, or flipping the jack so the arm is inward to the trailer, or switching to a power jack to eliminate the arm all together. We then realized once we install bikes they are likely going to hit the jack anyway during turns, regardless of the rack we choose. We thought about moving the jack to a different location on the frame but we didn't see a good option. All this to use a dual hitch extender that has a tongue weight limit of only 400 lbs? No thanks.

We are running a front hitch now and it isn't the best due to visibility concerns we could not engineer around. Rear hitch on the TM seems like the best option despite the horror stories. I'm looking for a setup where the rear shell will open with bikes in place.

I'd strongly consider https://www.1up-usa.com/product-category/bike-racks/

Check out some you tube videos on 1upusa....our rack (two fatbikes, under 25# @) tilts down away while still attached and cable locked (for theft purposes)....don't know if a 3 bike rack tilting down would allow enough clearance to the ground AND allow opening the rear half due to the last bike handlebars striking the ground (AND depending on the combined weight of the 3 bikes plus ~ 75#s of rack...it may be too heavy if attempting the hefting solo while squatting or kneeling).

They now make a heavy and super duty rack to accommodate heavier downhill mtbs or even an E bike.

Ok I'm new here and just bought a 2619. We had a popup and needed to carry two bikes so this is what we have and it works great. You need to buy an extension mount. www.swagman.net/product/traveler-xcs2/ I hope this helps

I had thought about that option too. I vetoed that one because I would no longer be able to open the rear window of my truck, and the bikes would likely be in my way when unhitching the trailer.

I'm planning to carry 4 bikes on the rear of my trailer. Two of the bikes are modern and quite light. The rack can swing down so I could still open the trailer without removing all the bikes. Also, the trailer by nature is more tongue heavy than most. Careful packing will add weight to the tongue so you should be just fine.

well the wife just told me that she now want to bring the kayaks so I'll order a front hitch for this rack and put the kayaks in the bed. I hope that rack helps someone we love it.
