Default Members in my area?

Hello All. First of all I would like to say that the TrailManor forum has been a great value for information over the past 2 months I've been reading it.
I'm a new member and I was curious if there is something on the site that shows other members in our area. We recently acquired our first TM and would really like to meet and talk to others about their TM.
Seeing that this is our first TM, seeing other trailers would be very valuable as far as ideas, hints and seeing how they should be properly setup.

Unfortunately, there is no geographical index of members, though I agree it could sometimes be handy. We encourage members to mention their location in their signature (as you have done) or their Profile's Location field, which shows up in the upper right of each post, as I have done. But it is not mandatory, and many folks don't do it.

Hi Scott,
I am Earl and my wife is Joan, we live in Largo and have made quite a few mod's to our 2008 2619! Our TM is set up in our back yard for easy access etc. We are retired so we are usually around and easy to contact! We have covered over 100,000 miles with the TM so we are seasoned and might be of help! PM me or email [email protected] so we can meet! Also we are setting up a TM Spring Rally in Kissimmee in April! We look forward to hearing from you!

Am in Orlando so only about 80 miles to the east. A meet in Kissimmee would be neat but do not schedule against Sun'n'Fun please (April 4-9).

Suspect I have gone about as far as possible electrically with mine since need to have AC and coffee while dry camping.

[The thread began to wander off topic, so posts about Florida campgrounds have been moved to a new thread under Recommended Campgrounds. This will make them easier to find in the future.]

Default Member Map

There is a Google feature that works well for this. It is a Member Map that allows members to post their location with a pin.

Here is our map on the Apache Popups site.

The only login required to access the map would be to this forum.

I created the Apache map on my Google acct. and the admin. there either linked to my map, or created another and added a link to it from the site (ApachePopUps.net)

I'll send a link to admin. If enough people want such a feature, I'm sure they will add it.

I'll stand in for the TMO Admin (Chris) and say that if you can arrange it so that no separate login is needed, I will arrange for a sticky post that directs members to the map. (A sticky post is one that remains at the top of the thread list. The "Trail Manor Sightings" thread is an example of a sticky.)

Participation will be strictly voluntary - the TMO forum will not provide any geographic location info to anyone. As such, the map will probably not include all members. If the automatic login can be set up so that it works automatically for Sponsors only, so much the better.

If anyone has reservations about this, please PM me, but at the moment, it sounds like a good idea. Thanks for volunteering, Grubbyjeans.
