Default TP for the John

I bought two brands advertised for trailers, also a regular cheap kind and a regular expensive kind.
I put two sheets of each in individual containers and filled the containers with water. I did this on the 1st of June 2006. I agitated each often and added water when it was low.
NONE of the brands disolved or changed. They did break apart into peices about the size of a quarter due to agitation.

Do you have any experience with this? Seems to me that the filter may get blocked.

We tried that test with the Kirkland brand TP from Costco when we bought our TM in 1998. We've used that TP in our homes for several years, and it works well in our present trailer as well as our present home which is on a septic system.

It is recommended for septic systems and that is what you're looking for. There is no need to buy "RV TP" at higher prices than what Costco costs, and you can use it everywhere in your home.

My 2 cents worth,

We've only used Thetford TP Digester once, but it seemed to work good. Before using it the toilet paper would not always get flushed all the way down, and we only used RV toilet paper.

That's good to know about Kirkland because that's what we use in our house.

Thanks...

Default Tp

I believe somewhere on the form it was posted that "Scotts" TP is also a good substitute!

I'm constantly amazed at how different we are from normal people. TP is not something we are concerned about with the Thetford as we rarely use the pump and all brands go out when we dump. We use the Thetford for liquid only and follow each dump with a three gallon bucket of water down the hatch to make sure all is clear.

We charge it with only enough water to mix with the chemicals and flush with the shower wand. This gives us close to the full 6 gallons of storage instead of three. Of course we rarely dry camp and pick places with some sort of toilet even when we do. To each his/her own.

Thanks for the info. Here it is the 29th of July and no change in the samples. I'll try Costco
