warrenty to 2nd owner

We are the 2nd owners to a 2003 3124ks TM. We bought at an estate sale 6 months after the unit was built. The TM has several minor problems (dealer prep kind of stuff) and water leaks around the AC and ceiling vent near the AC. AC is also very loud. We took unit into local dealer and he says only 1st owner is covered for warrenty work. I knew this was true for the torsion bars but I thought we were told when we took the factory tour, that a 2nd owner would be covered for the remainder of the 1st year. Local dealer says he called TM and they agreed with his original statement, not covered.

Does anyone have experience with warrenty work as 2nd owner? Or any suggestions on how to fix leaks. When the dealer left message on our phone, he did not give cost estimates for repairs.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mary,
The foam gasket under the AC is saturating with water and weeping. Colman changed the gasket material to open cell foam in 2002 and almost all of the 2002 & 2003 roof mount AC's have this leak. The repair is to replace the gasket with a new one of the correct type. I think that this is covered in the Colman warrenty ie. defective colman part. Call the factory to get help with this repair. Even though you are the second owner, the dealer should do this repair at no cost. Search the board for other strings about leaks. It has been a hot topic more than once.
