Thank you! Yes, I felt like there isn't enough light in the TM's, and I'm okay with it, but on cloudy days, it can really feel dreary. I wanted to brighten it up as much as I could. It really makes a difference at night!

Nice job Holly. Enjoy your trip and relax after all your hard work making your TM just the way you want it.

I'm really impressed with what you've done! Are those blackout blinds in the rear bed? I haven't shown my wife yet, but I'm sure she'll love all the colour you used. The British blood that still pumps through me (even though I'm several generations removed from any relative that actually lived in the UK) prefers the drab greys and wood tones. She just might make me paint all the trim burgundy or purple.
I'm planning to make some valances soon, but I'm going to install z-clips so they can be hung similarly to the upper cabinets. I just have to make them. My plan will be to use 3/4 square stock to make up the frame of the valance, then some solid wood baseboard to make the shell of the valance. I tend to stay away from MDF or particle board as much as possible because of the glues and chemicals used in them.

The cutest TM EVER!
What a doll house!! SOOO well coordinated and thought full with the mods. My favorite is the Roman shades and the trim instead of the valances, or the shelves with the new outlets, or just taking out the table and dinette seating looks so much bigger, oh I love it all! Great job making it YOUR TM!!

Wow Holly, very impressive! I can tell a lot of time and attention was put into this. We used to have a pop-up and I've seen a lot of pop-up makeovers, but this is the best TM makeover I've seen!

Thank you!
They aren't really 'blackout' shades - they are just made of cotton duck canvas, and since they are a light color, they don't really blackout, but they certainly cut down a large percentage of light. I made them, Roman shade style, and they are in all the windows.
My valances are made of band sawn pine, smooth side in, rough band sawn side out - I like the texture. The front 'decorative' pieces are a press board type of material - scraps from a packing crate insert. They are all - both valances and screen frames -
hung with z-clips. Takes me 5 min to take them all down or put them all up.
