Dodge Ram has standard Class 3 bumper

My 2001 Dodge Ram 15000 V-8 has a standard Class 3 steel rear bumper tow rating for up to 7,500 Lbs. maximum trailer weight. The bumper is 21.5 inches above the ground, made to receive a 2 inch ball with threaded shaft and locking nut. How can I modify class 3 bumper for TM "ideal trailer tongue height"?

They have 2" receivers that bolt right under the bumper to the existing holes. A friend of mine has that and tows a 28 foot travel trailer that weighs ~ 7000#. He has no problems and doesn't even need a WDH. http://www.lowcosttrailersupplies.co...-parts-rh.html

One more question. What is the "ideal trailer tow socket height" for a TM 2720 or 2619.

19" to 19 1/2" if the TM is stock, 21" to 22 1/2" if it has a lift kit, I believe. My 2619 was 19" when perfectly level.

That is measured from the ground to the top of the ball socket?

Actually, I believe that is to the inside top of the coupler on the trailer or to the top of the ball on the TV.

Looks like I'll get lift kit, so TM higher and can attach ball to existing bumper Class 3!
