Default Which ADCO cover for 2720SL?

I've read speculation and opinions on how to decide which cover to buy. But, I've only seen one that said they used an ADCO PN 12252 (CW PN 22071) for their 2720SL, and they said it was oversize.

I just ordered an ADCO PN 12295 (CW PN 20642) to cover our TM that has a rooftop air conditioner and an awning. Did I order the wrong cover?

If you bought an ADCO cover and have used it on your 2720SL unit, please tell me which cover you have and how well it fits.

Happy Camping!

Did you read

in the TM Reference Library? It might help.

Hi, Bill!

That URL reference's information (provided by you) is the reason I decided to order the ADCO PN 12295 cover. The posting's a couple years old, and I was wondering if you actually bought it for your TM and if it covered the A/C section of the TM ok.

I appreciated your prompt response.

Yes, I bought it and use it regularly. I think it is the best fit for the 2720SL, at least among the non-custom covers. It is still a little blousy around the front, but the next size down would be too small. And the Hi-Lo covers would drape on the ground too much, in my opinion, and flap in the wind.

My only wish is that it had a few more tie-down grommets around the edge. There are three straps that go under the trailer, but I have found that a couple more would be nice, especially front and back. But that's minor - if I really cared, I would buy a cheap grommet tool to install a few more, and I guess I haven't done it.

Default Thanks again, Bill

Based on the Camping World catalog and the ADCO web site specs, there's no way the 12295 is supposed to fit. But, since you have one and it fits OK, I'll open the package and put it on when it arrives, instead of returning it unopened and ordering the next size up.

I'm looking forward to getting a cover on, soon, since the leaves are starting to fall and leave brown stains on the top. Cooler weather has arrived.

Bill, I have a 3124KB and that ADCO cover seems to be to small for me, I have about 5 and 1/2 feet from the top of the AC unit to the bottom of the box not counting the wheels and the HI-LO cover seens to be about right, my length is 20 and 1/2 feet (not counting the propane bottles or the battery) and my width is 7 and 1/2 feet. All this was used to figure proper size using your method. Am I doing this right? I mean you wouldn't think the difference between a 2720 and a 3124 would be that much.

Flyguy -

Your post mentions both the height of the trailer and the circumference (length and width) in the same sentence. Be sure not to confuse the two - from the point of view of a cover, they are not related.

Regarding circumference, I don't have any specific measurements for your trailer. But consider this.

The circumference of the trailer is twice the width plus twice the length. I think all TMs are the same width, so there is no difference there between your 3124 and my 2720. But a closed 3124 is 4 feet longer than a closed 2720. The hitch area is the same size in all TMs, so the box of a closed 3124 - the part you are trying to cover - is 4 feet longer than the box of a closed 2720. You say your box is 20 1/2 feet long, which mean that the box of my 2720 is 16 1/2 feet long. The 12295 cover is 18 feet long, which is long enough to cover the box of a closed 2720, with a little to spare. But I wouldn't expect it to fit the 4-foot longer box of a 3124. In other words, I'm not surprised that a 12295 doesn't fit. Unfortunately, since the 12295 is the longest cover in the folding trailer series, you have no choice but to move to a HiLo cover.

As for height, that's a matter of personal preference. My 2720 has an air conditioner, like yours. With the airco, the 12295 doesn't go all the way to the ground on my 2720, and I wouldn't want it to. It covers the entire height of the box, and just a couple inches below. I can cinch it up so it doesn't blow in the wind. A taller cover would (in my opinion) have too much fabric hanging below the box, and it would be difficult to cinch up so the wind doesn't catch the slack. But as I say, if you want more height, that is a personal preference.

Thanks Bill, that gives me more confidence that I am doing the right thing. As you say, I don't have much choice but to go with the HI-LO cover or have a custom made cover made and as we both know, custom made means custom price, I'm not that fussy.

There shouldn't be any difference in a closed 2720 or 2720SL (except for the LP tanks), right ???

covers at camping world are cheap right now and you get free tire covers. I just ordered the 12295 for my 2720SL. Hasn't come in yet but the price was right for an SFS Aqua Shed ADCO cover. 96.00
