It would take a LOT of over inflation to do that. When they bead the tire on the rim, they often use 100psi.

It looks like the tread may be separating. I'd still take it by a tire shop and get a professional opinion.

You might also try standing the 2 tires next to each other on level ground and put a level across the top of them.

Inflation pressure was 55 and 54 on the other side.
